Ward Verne Beauchamp, age 93 of Aledo, formerly of Moline died Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Aledo Health Care Center.
Private family services will be held this fall/early winter. Memorials may be made to the Elks Lodge, the Aledo Health Care Center or to Grace Bible Fellowship Church of Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Ward was born August 30, 1911 in Cranford, PA the son of Henry W. and Hermea J. Summers Beauchamp. He married Florence R. Dubin on January 29, 1948 in Winnebago Co., IL. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2004.
Ward was a professional in the insurance industry for 70 years. He was an insurance agent and owner of Pope Insurance retiring in 1999 after 52 years. He was also a member of the Illinois Fire Underwriters of Chicago.
Ward was a Navy veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre, where he served as a Radioman, 1st Class and minefield Rifleman. He received his medals for meritorious service 50 years later. He was a lifetime member of the Moline Elks, Lodge # 556. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and the Illinois Blue Goose. He was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rock Island County and the National Federation of Independent Businesses. He was the past president of the Moline/East Moline Association of Insurance Agents. He also loved gardening, woodworking and being in the outdoors. He also sponsored several outdoor and veteran charities.

He was preceded in death by his wife, brother L.E. "Emmet" Beauchamp of Richmond, IN and his sister June Beauchamp of Chicago, IL.
After many years, Ward accepted Christ as his Savior, and died peacefully with a smile knowing he was loved by his family, nusing home staff and friends.
