Wayne L. Lieving

Wayne L. Lieving, 83, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday June 20, 2023, at Unity Point Health Trinity Rock Island.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday June 25, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday June 26, 2023, at the funeral home.  The burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Wayne was born on May 31, 1940, in Moline, IL, the youngest of seven and the only one born in a hospital. He was the son of Herman G. and Virdie Victoria (Morrison) Lieving. He graduated from Orion High School Class of 1958. Wayne married Peggy (Speer) Winger on September 8, 1984, in Colona. He ran body shops in the Quad Cites then became the owner and operator of Modern Communications and Quad City Re-Bath, both in Milan, retiring in 2012. He was a member of The Gathering Church, Moline, former Orion Lions Club president and Orion Little League president. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears fan.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; sons, Doug Lieving, Milan, Tony (Joanne) Lieving, Colona, Kerry (Denise) Lieving, New Windsor, Craig (Karen) Winger, Williamsville, IL; daughter, Angie (Jeff) Anderson, Orion; 26 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Phyllis L. Johnson, Bettendorf; brother, Junior Lieving, Moline; brother-in-law, Jerry Malmen, Rock Island; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ritchie; sisters, Grace, Doris, Evelyn; brother, Mal.
