Wilbert E. Peterson, 88, of Moline, died November 14, 2009 at Hope Creek, East Moline.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 20, 2009 from 5- 7 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. by Moline Lodge #1014 A.F. & AM at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave. Moline. There will be private family services on Saturday. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse at Silvis.
Wilbert was born August 18, 1921 in Moline to Gust and Anna (Johnson) Peterson. He married Glendoris "Sue" Brattain on May 5, 1946 in Moline. She preceded him in death on May 12, 2004. They shared 58 wonderful years together.
Wilbert began his employment at Guy E. Temples Sporting Goods in 1940 and retired as President in 1985. He proudly continued to work part-time at Temples past his 80th birthday.
Wilbert was past Exalted Ruler and active member of the Moline Elks Club. He was a 50 year member of Moline Lodge #1014 A.F. & AM and past member of the Moline Vikings Club Independent Order of Vikings. He was an enthusiastic St. Louis Cardinal fan. Wilbert's kindness will always continue to be an inspiration to his family and to those his life has touched.
The family of Wilbert Peterson would like to thank the kind and caring people in the Memory Care Unit at the Lighthouse, Silvis, Hospice Compassus, and Hope Creek, East Moline. The care provided to our father and grandfather will always be remembered and appreciated.
