Wilbur Wilson Perdew, age 87 formerly of Moline died June 27, 2004 at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley.
Memorial services will be held on July 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moline Gospel Temple, Chapel of Virtues in Moline. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island with the American Legion Post #246 conducting military honors. Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Wilbur was born on November 9, 1916 in Cumberland, Maryland the son of Frank and M. Virginia Beasley Perdew. He married Helen Caudell in Baltimore in 1961. She preceded him in death on September 11, 1999.
Wilbur was a teacher in Maryland and at the Moline Gospel Temple School. He received a B.S. Degree in Chemistry from the Unviersity of Maryland, a M.S. Degree in Physics from John Hopkins and he also graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport. He moved to the Quad-Cities in 1969. Wilbur was in the U.S Signal Corp. during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany where he served for 3 years. He also did research work.
Survivors include his sister Dorothy Maston of Erlanger, KY and his brother Robert Perdew of Maryland.
