William E. "Bill" Armstrong, 76 of East Moline died May 24, 2006 with his wife by his side.
Visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be graveside services on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at National Cemetery. Anyone who would like to attend the graveside needs to be at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. by 9:15 a.m. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or to Barrows - Muhammad Ali Parkinson Research Center.
Bill was born December 7, 1929 in Waverly, IL to William E. and Marion (Ashlaugh) Armstrong, Sr. He married Ruth Dunn on July 15, 1950 in Springfield, IL.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy.
Bill worked for Illinois Bell for 42 years. He retired in 1989 as supervisor.
Bill was a member of Telephone Pioneers. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing with Craig and his good friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
Bill will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his smile, which he was always doing and his way of finding the best in everyone.
