Duane "Bill" Dahl, 70 of Orion died February 21, 2006 at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. Friday at the ARK in St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Orion. Military rites will be conducted by Sherman J. Sagadin Post 143 VFW Orion. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Orion Community Veteran's Memorial.
Bill was born March 29, 1935 in Moline to Charles J. and Frances M. (Peterson) Dahl. He married G. Mardelle Anderson on April 26, 1957 in Orion. She preceded him in death on June 19, 1999. He married Charlotte Lizdas on October 4, 2003 in Orion.
Bill was actively engaged in his life long profession of farming. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church were he served on various committees. He was an Army veteran serving from June 1955 to March 1957. He was a member of Sherman J. Sagadin Post 143 VFW Orion where he was post commander and chaplain. He was involved in the Corn Cob Players, Orion Easter Egg Hunt, he was on the War Memorial Committee and he was on the Lutheran Cemetery board. He was well known for his Chief Seattle speech.
