William Thomas Long

William Thomas Long, 86, of Orion, died September 12, 2008 in Crystal Falls, MI.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Lions Club of Illinois Endowment Fund.
Bill was born April 14, 1922 in Richmond, KY to Russell Brian and Mayme (Smith) Long. He married Marguerite Moores on March 2, 1946 in Harradsburg, KY.
Bill was a WWII Army veteran. After his discharge from the Army he was a civilian employee for the U.S. government from 1945-1980. He retired as a Quality Assurance Specialist.
Bill was a member of the Moline American Legion Post #246, Moline Lions Club, and was President of Sunny Hill Water Association. He enjoyed the garden, and farm, animals, fishing, golf and dancing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren.

Great Grandson Satya Milic Oakland, CA
Sister Anna Margaret Kelly Richmond, KY
He was preceded in death by his sister Jane Ellen Ott.
