William Henry Rasmussen, 72, of Coal Valley, IL, died Friday, September 20, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bill was born on May 5, 1941, in Moline, IL, the son of William P. and Gladys C. (Harris-Miller) Rasmussen. He married Catherine Shirts on June 23, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline. He later married Jean A. Fredell Johnson on September 23, 1978, in Rock Island, IL.
Bill began working in several Quad City grocery stores stocking shelves. Later, he worked 18 years for Montgomery Elevator as a Machine Operator, retiring in 1986. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, sports, and was a huge Chicago Bears and New York Yankee fan.
