William F. Rynor

November 29, 1931 — July 2, 2011

William Franklin Rynor, age 79, of Orion, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Trinity, Rock Island after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation is from 4-6:30 Tuesday with a Masonic Service beginning at 6:30 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301-4th St., Orion. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
William was born November 29, 1931, in Corydon, IA, the son of Royal and Pearl (Gates) Rynor. He married Betty "B.J." Kite on May 1, 1954, in Clio, Iowa.
He was a member of the Orion United Methodist Church and a member of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge #661, serving as a Master in 1976. He worked as a Division Chief of the motorpool at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring old cars, gardening and taking care of his yard. He liked to golf, to shoot pool, and he was a diehard Cubs fan. His grandchildren were everything to him and he loved attending all of their different sporting events and activites. He loved playing with his great grandchildren and spending time with his dog, Abner.
