Willis C. Bishop, age 82 of East Moline died February 21, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 24th at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd.,
6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #246, Moline.
Willis was born on May 8, 1923 in Peoria, IL. He married Margaret Jackson on March 22, 1951 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on October 12, 1999.
Willis was employed as an electrician at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, for 20 years retiring in 1985. He served in the Army during World War II where he received 2 bronze medals. He was a member of the Moline American Legion Post #246. Willis was also a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church in Rapid City where he served as a deacon. He also enjoyed dancing.
Survivors include his daughter, Connie Renner of Flatonia, TX; 3 sons Richard and special friend Linda Mattson of East Moline; Gary of Flint, MI and David of Flint, MI; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a half sister Irene Ward of East Moline.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Raymond.
