Wilma E. Maloney, 99, of Moline, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, at her home.
A Celebration of Life gathering will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the Holiday Inn, Rock Island and the family asks that anyone attending please email a RSVP for the Celebration to pwebb@grics.net. Graveside services will be at Noon, Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Those wishing to attend the graveside should meet at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, at 11:15 a.m., on Wednesday for procession to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline.
Wilma was born on January 7, 1920, in Taylorville, Illinois, the daughter of Alvin and Elizabeth (Davis) Jones. She married Lowery B. Maloney on July 4, 1946, in Pekin and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2008. Wilma had previously been employed as a secretary at Henry Engineering Co. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and an avid bowler well into her 90’s.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Clifton VanWinkle, Rock Island, Jennie Mitchell, Moline; great grandchildren, Jacob, James, and Alex.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Rebecca VanWinkle, and two sisters.
Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
