Winston "Mike" Michael Delbert West

Winston “Mike” Michael Delbert West, 71, of Lynn Center, IL, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1001 9th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Arc of St. Paul Lutheran Church. At a later date, the family will hold a private graveside service at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers, Mike asked for memorials to be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or for a fund to be established by the family. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mike was born on July 12, 1944, in Milan, IL, the son of Earl Lonzo and Rita Agnes Pellin West. He married Nancy K. Rehn on June 4, 1967, in Ophiem, IL. In 2006, he retired as a journeyman carpenter from Local 166.
Mike was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring from service in 1966. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he also performed volunteer work and general maintenance. He was a member of the Orion Athletic Booster Club and a former member of the Orion VFW. Mike enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was a huge Orion Charger fan as well as a Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Illini fan.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy; 3 children, Jacqueline Foster, Knoxville, TN, Michael West, Orion, IL, and Jason West, Orion, IL; 5 grandchildren, Drew, Malerie, Samuel, and Seth West, and Savanna Foster; 3 sisters, Jessie (Brad), Bonnie, and Naomi; 2 brothers, Vernon and Laurie; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Don and Pat Larson, June and Ron Matzen, and Debbie and Deanna.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary.
