Adrienne Powell

Adrienne D. Powell, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018, in East Moline.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or Park Vista Memory Care Unit.

Adrienne was born on February 2, 1919, in Albia, IA, the daughter of Philip A. and Phoebe M. Long Johnson.  She married Earl Powell on March 15, 1940, in East Moline.  He preceded her in death on December 28, 2003.

Adrienne worked as a hairdresser at the Letha Crist Beauty Salon and later owned her own business.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of East Moline and a former member of Watertown Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Karyn Hurst, Moline; grandson, Marc (Andrea) Hurst, Bettendorf; granddaughter, Kara Hurst, Sherrard; great grandchildren, Nickolas Hurst, Katlyn Hurst, Ella Hurst, Rylan Hurst, Barron Hurst, Benjamin Sidmore, Peyton Jones, and Dalton Jones; great-great grandchildren, Brady Hurst and Oaklyn Heminger; and extended family, Travis and Geri Lynn Stanley, East Moline.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, son-in-law, William Hurst, and grandson, Todd Hurst.
