Lowell Williams, 86, of East Moline, died, Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Ave, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer foundations.
Lowell was born on September 5, 1931 in Tupelo, MS, the son of Benjamin Joseph and Lula Mae Wilson Williams. He married Hazel Rusk on July 26, 1952, in Carbon Cliff. Lowell worked for International Harvester of East Moline for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He also worked as a salesman for Electrolux Floor Care Products for 50 years, retiring January 2017. Lowell was a member of UAW 1304, a committee man and serving on the C.A.P. council. He loved dancing at the American Legion of East Moline.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Williams; sons, Eddie (Kathryn) Williams, Denver, CO, Joe (Fran) Williams, Moline; grandchildren, Shane Williams, Butte, MT, and Emma Williams, Denver, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers.
