Philip C. Kester, 88, formerly of East Moline, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at New Perspective Senior Living in Silvis.
Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial of cremains will take place in Nebraska.
Phil was born on May 28, 1934, in Cambridge, Nebraska, the son of Cordy and Geraldine (Hilton) Kester. He married Marilyn A. McLane on August 17, 1954, in Cambridge, Nebraska. In 1961, Phil graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in agricultural engineering. After graduation he and Marilyn moved to East Moline, Illinois so he could work for John Deere Harvester. When he retired from John Deere, he was asked to be a consultant for two more years. Afterwards, Phil built an agricultural business, RK Products, that he ran for twenty-five years with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, Silvis; sons, Karl (Ginger) Kester, East Moline, Reid (Edi) Kester, Utica, Kansas; and sister, Susan (Ted) Jareski, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan.
